世界中でカーボンニュートラルに向けた取り組みが加速する中、KDDIと三菱重工、NECネッツエスアイの3社は、データセンターのサーバーの冷却に必要な消費電力を大幅に減らす技術「液浸冷却システム」を開発。

今回はその冷却システムを、KDDI株式会社が運営するオウンドメディア『KDDIトビラ』に向けて撮影しました。冷却オイルが落ちるカットではストロボを使用し、ノイズが乗らない&被写体の動きを止めるように撮影。またKDDI様のイメージカラーに沿って、ブルーがかったレタッチを施しております。

KDDIトビラに掲載する写真を撮影し始めてから半年以上が経ちますが、環境問題に向き合う真っ直ぐな姿勢には、いつも心を打たれます。素敵な企業様の取り組みを、写真を通して伝えるお手伝いができていることをとても光栄に思います。

As efforts toward carbon neutrality accelerate around the world, KDDI, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and NEC Networks & System Integration have jointly developed a liquid immersion cooling system, a technology that significantly reduces the power required to cool servers in data centers.

For this project, I photographed the system for KDDI Tobira, an owned media platform operated by KDDI. For the shot of the cooling oil droplets falling, I used a strobe to freeze the motion of the subject while keeping the image clean and free from noise. The final images were also color graded with a subtle blue tone to align with KDDI’s brand color.

It has been more than six months since I started photographing images for KDDI Tobira, and I am always impressed by the company’s sincere commitment to addressing environmental challenges. I feel truly honored to help communicate the initiatives of such an inspiring company through my photography.
